John’s work has been widely exhibited. His photographs have been published by The New Yorker, Men’s Journal, Town And Country, Decor, Unicef, Metropolitan Home, Crain’s New York Business, Modern Luxury, Elle Canada, Plum Hampton and other magazines.

Articles about John’s photographs have appeared in The East Hampton Star, The Southampton Press, Newsday, Shutterbug, and Blue Sand. His work has been highlighted in the Star’s EAST magazine and he was selected as a VIP artist by Long Island Pulse.

John’s work is displayed in the Wellness Center at Southampton Hospital and at the South Fork Country Club. His photographs have been shown in the Artists of the Springs Invitational Exhibit at Ashawagh Hall.  His photograph Aperture was used as the cover image for Mark Doty’s Deep Lane.

John studied with master printer Anthony Nobile in the 1970’s, gaining inspiration from Nobile’s studies with Minor White and Paul Caponigro.  John also worked as a ranger for the National Park Service, including several years as an assistant to the curator at Sagamore Hill National Historic Site where he catalogued the collection of historic photographs.
