I find myself thinking about white balance more these days. Mostly the thought process goes like this: “how do I want this to look so it relates to how I feel?”
It took me years to begin adjusting white balance regularly. I may tend to start with “where should the white balance be to make this more true-to-life?” but then I go to your question, which I think is more important. The other question is “What did it feel like to me when I made the photograph?” And how can I bring that out more? Endless questions, they keep us going. 🙂
Well said! I typically shoot true-to-life as well because the camera doesn’t permit subtle enough adjustments. But I often do that with a sense of where I want to take it later.
Lovely!
