  1. Beloved guests

    The old country house has bent
    over its sore side
    like a swallow wound to a wing.
    In front of the entrance a shabby veranda
    with thin columns and an unlit lantern
    oscillates softly at the breath of the wind.
    At the far end of the meadow,
    with a faint scent of resin and pallor of death,
    the creaking of worms away
    in the torn axles.

    These verses are drawn from my poem “Beloved Guests”. It seems to me that they describe your photo well.

  2. Great picture with a timeless beauty reminiscent of those great Walker Evans FSA photos in the south from the 30’s.
