Really wonderful, John, and I can’t help wonder how much you have a final, or finished look like this in mind when you are out making the photograph – or does the way to process it spring to mind later? I can just about imagine a scene like this, but I don’t picture envisioning the photograph this way. It’s a beautiful rendition of mood and mystery.

    1. That’s right… it depends on if I’m shooting in color or not, although in the overwhelming majority of instances I’m aware in the field if there’s monochrome potential.
