Curious…the place is called by a bastardized pronunciation of my surname! Where is it and what is its history?
Thanks Janina. Pine Neck is a peninsula on Peconic Bay, on eastern Long Island (New York). Not so sure about how it got its name– perhaps for the Pitch Pines which are common here. The area has been settled by Europeans since the 17th century.
Thanks John, but I was referring to the Noyack. I expect those people came from the old Czechoslavakia (Novak).
