Going the opposite direction from the comment above, there’s a tank near here with Douglas fir silhouettes painted on it, so it looks more “natural” of course – and I’ve been wanting to get a shot of the tank with it’s painted decoration, the actual Douglas firs that do stand around it, and the shadows they sometimes cast on it. Positioning, as well as time of day, has prevented me so far. Why don’t you come out to the PNW next time you go west, and take a shot at it?? πŸ™‚

  2. There’s so much to look at in this picture that you almost feel like you’re there in the pre-dawn air, scanning over the subject matter. There’s the Latter Day Saints church out yonder next to that house under the last street light of evening. Then there’s the stark water tank in the foreground with the even starker shadow of a tree superimposed upon it. Then there’s the early morning Utah sky and the first rays of sunlight brightening the grasses in the foreground which gives the whole picture a coherence and beauty. Great shot!
