I’m loving this series, John. The absence of people gives the impression of a summer holiday spot, in winter.
Thanks John. It’s actually a summer holiday spot on the verge of eruption.
Another gorgeous shot John. I love the simplicity of these kind of photographs. Beautifully done!
Thanks Adrian – nothing but rain since this shoot; I’ve been hankering to get out there and do some more.
Great perspective, beautiful colors, calm, piece and brimming with the new. Love this shot!
Thanks so much Hanne!
This is so subtle and lovely.
Thanks Richard- glad you like it.
Very Zen! And the cloud looks like a giant fish swimming across the sky.
Good comment– a giant fish!
A perfect invitation to serenity!
Thanks Patti. There is an invitational look here– the phragmites positioned on both sides like curtains.
Bellissima!
grazie Marta
Perfect frame
Much appreciated.
I like this…the cloud floating by….and the simplicity….
Thanks Tom.
That’s a really odd, nice composition. I love it!
Thanks Lynn. It also resulted in my second tick bite of the season.
Oh damn! I got Lyme several times back in the 90’s…let’s hope there are no consequences.
Lovely 🙂
thanks so much Katarina
Hi John,
As you know I’m a big fan of yours. Wonder whether you considered framing the shot with the cloud centered between the grasses — or was it even possible? Or do you prefer the tension created by the imbalance?
Great question.
I did shoot the same scene with the cloud in the middle and spent a bit of time comparing the two before posting this one. Despite the bullseye effect, the cloud-centered version did work fine, but this one spoke to me too. Perhaps because it seemed edgier in an interesting way.
I guess we’re all trying to avoid cookie cutter images at this point, and as you know, this is an especially challenging task with color landscapes.

Nice light and a very interesting composition.

Happy minimalism to you, John.
