Salt Marsh Shack – Napeague

salt marsh shack

A photograph to provide some evidence that I’m not (always) looking down.

The shack is one of the abandoned structures associated with the decommissioned MacKay Radio Tower, a facility used for ship communications during World War II. Nearby is an endearing entanglement of power lines and poles. The light in the salt marsh can be quite extraordinary.

The marsh is also a great place for birding, something which the raptors figured out long ago.
