These photographs are not the “big pictures” that define landscapes. It’s tempting to call them micro-landscapes but that’s inaccurate even though the pictures possess some of the intimacy of macro photography.
These are pictures which are person-sized. You look down to take them–you don’t look out. They reside in the personal space of the photographer, but they’re also tied to a larger scene.
Maybe the best name for them is “little pictures”.
