John Todaro Photography at the Water Mill Cupcake Company

Fall is here. Beginning Columbus weekend The Water Mill Cupcake Company will be featuring a show of my photographs at their cafe and bake shop at 760 Montauk Highway in the village of Water Mill.  The show will run through December. There were already a number of reasons to visit the bakery – now you have another. This image (entitled “Canopy”) will be there on display,  but let me tell you about the cupcakes…

The bake shop is the creative project of long-time cooking friends (and cousins) Ruth Balletta and Cynthia Formica. Ruth and Cynthia (from Southampton and Sag Harbor, respectively) are the creators of a fascinating array of specialty cupcakes, Whoopie Pies, loaf cakes and other temptations. The bakers have received much attention in the press, with articles appearing in the Wall Street Journal, Edible East End, Dan’s Papers and elsewhere. It should be noted that the bakery also has great coffee (some of which I finished off about an hour ago). There’s homey tables … a view outside … this is a place to relax or to bring the kids when they’ve gotten a good report card. Believe me, children couldn’t ask for a better treat than a Water Mill Cupcake!

Ruth and Cynthia also are available to fill orders for parties, birthdays, weddings or what-have-you. The bake shop, by the way, is located in the Water Mill Shoppes complex on the north side of the road by the traffic light. Below is a link to their website:
